Got this new toy, it needs some work and a few parts. I have tried to search and keep coming up empty.

Interesting find. Your post didn't say what you are missing. Only thing I see is it appears to be missing linkage from the governor to the carb. Be careful with working with screw compressors. Make sure the regulation system is in good working order and the separator tank is in good condition with the proper oil. If the sep element is bad you could blow all the oil out the air discharge and damage the compressor. There are many other components in the regulation system that can go bad from sitting and could cause airend failure. _________________ Brett

| I've got an industrial engine parts manual if you need something looked up. I've got a scan of it as well that I could probably burn a copy of, if you need it. |

ZOZO, that would be great,THANKS! The exhaust on #3 is rotted, wrong dist cap, no gov arm, wrong gov belt, and misc. Are you any where near Marion, a great friend of mine lives near there? I am wondering year and specs. I would like to restore this compressor to an original appearance. The compressor makes great air and isn't blowing any oil. _________________ 1969 CREWCAB and UHAUL camper |

Ok. By way of introduction, I purchased one of these air compressors just a couple of weeks ago. I have searched the internet high & low trying to find out information, but I this little thread is about it! I recognize that this is a VW forum, and appreciate any help in advance!
On to my dumb issues:
#1 - My brother mistook the OIL cap for a gas cap, and filled it with a gallon or so of gas... I decided that the best course of action would be to drain the oil, but actually unscrewed the bolt/spring to the side of the oil drain... I had a lot of fuel pour out... What is this drain called?
#2 --- For the life of us, we can't seem to find the gas tank/cap on this thing... We have tried following the fuel pump, but it gets lost in the sullair pump side of things.. Anyone have an idea where it would be located? |

Two weeks into my marriage and I received an amazing birthday gift from my now Father-in-law. He purchased the unit from the local city maintenance tool sale in Eastern Montana. He surprised me by mailing me copies of the manuals and some photos for my birthday letting me know it was mine! I hope in the next year or two to go pick it up. It's a cool piece of now functional Volkswagen art in my opinion and something I will treasure for a long time!
I will send the manual to Everett to see if he would like to upload them to the site. I can also make copies of everything for you VWRICK69. It looks like we have the same unit, so once I get me hands on this one we can use it for reference; it seems to be well, intact and unmolested.
