Hey guys,
So maybe a weird question, but im not finding a lot of concrete info on it. I was wondering what years/cars share the same seat tracks as the 74 standard beetle. I had initially thought that the 77+ and convertibles had different tracks, but I was recently advised that it shared tracks with all of the later bugs and even one of the mk1 watercooled VWs. What do you guys know to fit? I'm curious basically what seats I can swap my 74 seats for without building mounts. _________________ '74 - front disks/lots more work to do |

Beetle 1973+ years share same tracks on the pans, only the seat cushion/frames are different.
Don't personally know about any other models/makes which would fit. Other will chime in to confirm/deny other model interchangeability.
EDIT:
Here's my general reference on how I figured that out:
Wolfsburg west parts page for floor pans (the tracks are pre-welded on their pans)

oh, duh. Solid way to do it. Do you have any idea if the convertible seats are the same as the sedan seats for 73+? _________________ '74 - front disks/lots more work to do |

I'm not sure on the Vert vs sedan thing.
I will tack on here another option for seats (it's what I did. ProCar/ScatVW aftermarket replacement seats)
Here's the thread for those seats to give you an idea of what the kit includes:

I have very certainly considered them, and if we are being honestly, I likely ultimately have to go something I have to behind brakes for, but the entire idea for my build is that I want the car to look at least like I could have been factory to someone who doesn't know about bugs. IMO, the scat seats just dont do that super well (something just feels off when I see them in a bug IMO). _________________ '74 - front disks/lots more work to do |
