My early January 1958 Beetle has 14mm fender bolts. I believe VW transitioned to 13mm heads a few months later.
So if my fender bolts are 14mm heads. Should the bolts that secure my running board to the fender be the same bolt?
Bolt spec: Kamax 8G 8mm x 1.25 Thread Length ???
please advise and/or correct any of my assumptions.

Good morning
If you have the 14 mm headed bolts that are replacement on your 58 use them.
If all you can find are 13mm headed bolts of the proper length then that’s all
You can do.
