Just about any cheap inductive timing light will be good enough. No need for the fancy ones with electronic advance, etc....unless you want one just so you can have a tachometer on the timing light. I just use a $30 light and my multimeter for a tach.

Mine is an Actron CP7504. I got it at one of the Auto Parts stores, like Auto Zone. It was 10 years ago, but it still works great. You need a timing pulley, or mark the stock pulley at the timing mark you want to see.

Any basic low end inductance light will do (minimally) ... Having good timing marks (highlighted) on crankshaft pulley really helps....

Agreed, pass on the timing advance models as I've seen them be inaccurate. I'm clumsy so I prefer metal body lights with metal clamps, most are plastic bodies with plastic clamps and easily broken. Older Penske lights seem to work well and hold up.

A dial back is very handy.

Calibrate against a non dial back.
