Just replace all those old brittle plastic tubes on the fire wall and check the rubber fill connectors to the tank, who needs a kit.

I didn't know there was a specific kit. As posted above, just replace the hoses/gaskets/clamps and don't forget the seal for the fuel sending unit.

Yes it does work. I don’t understand how wolfsburgwest is out of stock of the kit but has the individual pieces.

Just replace all hoses, plastic Ts, and gaskets on the sender and cap. And that should salve the smell, if not, you may have a fuel leak at one of your fuel lines.
