Rear SA Mud Flaps -- chafe paint?

Hey folks,

So I bought these on sale -- the logo looks cheaply painted on, but that's another story...

My concern is that they fit on by riding on the painted metal and then are pinched into place. I worry that they will rub the paint over time and create rust where there is none.

Thoughts? Chafe tape of some kind or don't bother with them at all...
