hi All,
looking for information on specific location of front brake line bracket
starting to strip down my pan, noticed the front brake brackets are welded to the side of the frame head. (see pic)
are the brackets meant to be positions on the tabs are further forward on the frame head (Arrows)
trying to get it all correct. thanks

Do you have a pic without the red arrows so we can see where they are now?
They were originally spot welded to the shelf, that tab is part of the bracket.

It looks like somebody cut each one off and turned it backwards and welded them to the framehead plate. Try cutting thier welds only and turn each one around and see if they fit back where they were originally and reweld them. It looks like they are still the right length.
Best of luck.

Glad to help out! There is a body number on the driver’s side brake line bracket. Be sure to put the numbers facing to the outside, when you weld it back into place.

thanks for that didn't know about the number. had a quick look and could not see a number but will clean up and double check.
it is a CKD beetle, so maybe didn't have numbers on them, but will definitely check.
thanks

Should be right there. But maybe CKD cars are numbered elsewhere.?.?
