Can I use a timing light with a petronix ignition module? Will or can it somehow short the thing out? If it is kosher to use ,any special way to do it?

Time it as usual...assuming your are using the correct method for your distributor, like if an 009, forget about static timing.

Used a Penske Just like that to time mine, my only advice is to time it at full advance at 43 degrees and then see what the idle is like, my pertronix SVDA likes about 6 degrees at idle which I have been told is not common.
