Drivers side?
Can you post a broader picture? so that we have some reference of were the plug is and where the wire it's attached to goes...
It possibly is the power to your reverse lights. The positive power comes off the positive side of the coil. _________________ James

The angle of your picture is weird, but that is the fuse connector coming from the transaxle. It is plugged into a two-spaded switch in the side of the transmission that operates your back up lights.
The other half of the connector that is missing helps saddle and contain the fuse, which has a pigtail wire that runs to the ignition coil, hot lead, terminal #15. _________________ The Bus Barn Ltd. Co.

It is half of the fuse holder for the reverse light switch that is installed in the nosecone of the tranny-line is supposed to connect to the + side of the coil with the fuse inline. |

Thanks everyone for all the info. This a great site for vw info. I try to figure things out with the manual and hopefully a little common sense but if that fails you guys bail me out. 👍 |

That is a fuse holder for the back up lights but can be replaced with many other types of fuse holders _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum
