 Not clear what you mean by "way high", but sounds like the speedo has seen better days. If it is just a bit off, I'd guess wheel size, but "way high" sounds like a speedo replacement is in the future.
You are lucky, those clusters take about 2 minutes to remove, unlike, a 90 Jetta!!!
Toss the speedo, if it is the 85mph and get a 100 mph one out of a 87 or newer...even the whole cluster
ebay is expensive, I bought one last weekend at a pik a part place with a tach from a 88 and paid 33 bucks for it  :fist: |
