I picked up a bus and the PO didnt know much about the engine. All he knew was its an 1835. Could you guys tell me if these are EMPI Kadron knock offs?
What distributor is this?

Any help would be appreciated.

I want to remove the “dial” FPR.

It looks like you have two left hand carbs instead of a left and right.

I might be wrong but Kadrons don't come in left/right versions.

Distributor looks like a 034 (SVDA) copy.

If they are EMPI, they will say EMPI somewhere on the body.

Yep, and that's why there are so many linkage issues with them.

Get rid of that regulator, and then check pressure. It might be fine.

Things I like:

-the Kads have a better linkage than the one which come in the kit.
-the carbs have been modified to use vacuum advance

I don't like:

-FPR
-fuel filter in the engine compartment
-smaller pulley
-breather/filler
-what's happening with the plug wires
-carbs' air filters
-the mist oiling the full-flow lines, will probably go away if you address the breather issues

I would use another vacuum line off the other carb and a "T" fitting to the distributor, you might be getting some weird pulses at the vacuum diaphragm on the 034 distributor.

My EMPI Brosol/Kadron 40/44EIS Carburetors have "Brosol" casted on them.

Are there any markings on yours that don't show in your pics?

it didnt used to be that way but newer kadrons or kadrons with rebuild kits in them have lousy needle and seats and are very sensitive to fuel pressure...stick with a regulator ...what you have is one of the crappier styles but still better than nothing...i'd get a better one eventually...usually lettering is on the side of the float bowl
