Hello Samba Community,
I’m looking to rent (for a day) late 50s - early 60s Type 1 to drive off my son post wedding ceremony, Sunday July 12.
Hoyt Park
I was just informed tonight of their plans
I have a 64, however it’s currently undergoing maintenance and will not be ready in time.
If anyone can help, that would be most excellent and will be compensated for their time.
I searched locally, but running into a dead end, thus requesting help from the community.
If you’re outside the area, I can rent a trailer to reduce wear and tear.
Ill be driving up from NorCal but PNW is my home.
Advise if you can and thanks for the help. _________________ Gotta Luv the Dub! |

If you're dead set on a type 1. I'll offer up my 67.
It's a good runner with a new transmission.
I will wash it up and deliver it to the wedding venue. If you are agreeing.
I'll just take your rental car or whatever you're driving during the wedding. Then return to retrieve my beetle. Post wedding.
BTW, the horn does not work.
No charge. Just enjoy the moment and consider this a wedding gift.

Thanks for the replies friends.
Will advise as the date gets a bit closer.
Recent COVID crap may change some things.

Holy crap! That's got to be one of the most generous offers in The Samba history! I don't know that I would have the courage to lend out my Bus / Bug to very many people I actually know, let alone someone I don't.
Good on you 67rustavenger! Maybe I should learn to be a little nicer too. |

Eh! Don't change Stan.
I'm just a nice guy that was trying to help out a fallow sambanista.
Plus the exchange vehicle from vrsechslvr is pretty awesome.
So it's a fair exchange for a day where a father and his son make a lifetime memory.
The wedding is up in the air with the latest virus BS that's taking place.
We'll see what happens. _________________ I have learned over the years.
