From what I can tell, potable water tanks are no longer made to fit 68-71 campers. Does anyone know of an aftermarket one with appropriate dimensions that can be repurposed? Or an alternative ways of making the water sink/pump/tank work?
Thanks! _________________ '71 Campmobile. |

If you don't mind looking non-stock, here's an idea:
I found a sturdy 5 gallon water jug that fit inside the cabinet. Then routed the water line thru a filter and pump to a small faucet. It works great, and found all the items on Amazon (except for a few plumbing items I found at the local Ace).
The best part I like about it is the container can be removed, cleaned and refilled easily. _________________ -Kent-

Thanks for sharing that. I knew someone had run into this issue here on Samba as none of those original /stock tanks are getting any younger...
I found some interesting RV sites with lots of plastic water and grey water tanks for sale, starting at 1.5 gallon on up, in all sorts of different shape configurations to hopefully fit someone's cabinet or vehicle.
I like your set-up, that jug resembles the ones I'd used for water on off-roading trips in the Desert where water was scarce and you wanted to play it safe with a good 10 gallons to take with you. _________________ '68 Westy- my first VW and vehicle/Bus- long gone.- sold it to a traveling Swiss couple....
