speedometer cable recommendation

Does manufacturer of the speedo cable matter? I would like to buy once but have noticed a huge discrepancy in prices. Some website sells an "OEM Quality" for 30.00 but can get 2 different types on rock auto for $7.00 -$8.00.
I have learned that somethings are best to get OEM but is this one of the instances?

Personally, I'm a Wolfsburg West snob, but, you can buy 3 $8 ones and still be ahead of the game.
