Is there a way to just see the pics and attachments in one thread?

No, there is no "Show me all the pics in this thread" where it would show all the pics ever posted in say a 50-page thread.
It's not impossible to create such a link but it might be an issue if there were a ton of pics. With enough pics it might freeze or crash your browser due to the total size and browser memory needed.
I'm not sure what you mean by search other than return a listing of all the pics.

Could the search result not be just like a picture search result - where it shows a a small pic/thumbnail that can be clicked on to see the full pic?

Yes, that is possible but it wouldn't work right if the photos are not from this site where the thumbnails are immediately accessible.
Anything not from the Gallery here would have to be skipped (most likely) or whatever photo was posted would have to be posted full size but shrunk to just look small even though it was huge. Returning 50 huge images could be an issue for a lot of users.
Maybe explain why you want this so I understand it better and in case something else comes to mind.
Are you trying to find a certain photo in a thread?

Hi Everett, I lost track of this question I had posted. Sorry.
To answer your question - the use case is as follows - while I am restoring my KG, I sometimes need some reference pics of certain parts of the car. There are many good restoration threads, but without going thru each page of each thread, I won’t know if it has a photo that would answer my need. If there was a way to see all the photos in a thread more easily, it would become easier to skim thru and find what I need.

I would like that too.
Maybe an array of thumbnails of all the pics in that thread.
In chronological sequence.
And a link to the specific post that had the pic, with a short text excerpt and the member's name.
Maybe skip the off-site pics if they are trouble.
