I have a 68 beetle that we are building into a Baja for my son.

I have purchased a set of Thing spindles and Lower arms.

Can I use the beetle upper arms?
Can I use thing ball joints in the beetle upper arms?
Are the brakes and bearings different for the thing spindle?

No offence but the answer is actually: yes, yes, no, yes

what I mean is: bearings are not exactly the same as bug, they differ

Drums are different too, IIRC. They MAY be the same as 66-67 Bug 5-lug ball joint drums. I'm not sure how similar American Market and European Market Type 181s are. Wheel cylinders, backing plates and shoes should all be the same between Bug and Thing.

You can put big drums on the Thing spindle just fine. The thing drum is just thicker. I used a thing chassis when I built my dune buggy. Thing ball joints and arms are way better than bug. Worth it.
