I have a 1991 Double Door (dual slider) tin-top Vanagon / Transporter which I imported from Canada, and is now listed on Bring-a-Trailer.

I'd love to find out how many double-slider vans were ever made, and compare that to the number of Syncros.

Anybody know?

Cheers!

why do you care now, if you are selling,
or is this just a shameful way of bringing attention to the auction?

He's asking because someone on BAT asked him if he knew how many were made. Don't be such a #*%!.

I remember seeing a double door back in the late 80’s. It was a flower delivery van and the owner said he ordered it from VW.

I know it doesn’t give you any numbers but there might not be any cuz if it was an order only thing they might not have kept records.

In Europe, T25s were used as light commercial vehicles. Lots of different models (Doka, Sinka, panel, etc) could be ordered. I've seen double doors that were used by police, fire department and others. I think they were about as frequent there as tri-star vans are here. Not something you see every day, but not totally rare.

l'd buy that model for my pops, he'd have a brand new van, that annoyed it every time he used it.

he was a fan of riding my bicycle, as it was nicer than his, so l always left it in the highest gear, to annoy him as he tried to ride off on it.

The dual-slider was bid to $12,700 but didn't meet reserve.

wife is, until tomorrow driving about with no brake booster, the van has a BMW booster in it, but it ain't working, no hissing or any signs, apart from needing to pull up on the steering wheel when applying the brakes.

And no vacuum leak? The booster failing is not a common issue for e30s at all.
