NOT MY AUCTION. But lol. Listed on the 'bay.
"This is the chance to get one of a kind custom Volkswagen beetle and unique. also, with a very rare to find Hydrodyne boat on top. This Volkswagen beetle 1961 was customized with a 1960 Hydrodyne boat as a body. It was fully restored three years ago. This thing is very well done it has a tubular frame where the boat body seats, so it is very solid. also has a VW 1600cc dual port and dual carb vw air-cooled engine witch drives great not leaks or funny noises. This car is fully functional (as a car) and it is street legal. But unfortunately, it does NOT FLOAT. Great condition You can use it as a rental, daily driving, your business advertising or just add to your personal collection. this is a very EYE-CATCHING. Clean title."

Getting in and out is probably more than I could deal with. It does look cool, and the work looks great. |

Very well done! In the first photo I immediately recognized the oval slatted engine air intake as a Hydrodyne, even before reading the text. I remembered such a boat at a lake my family would sometimes visit when I was a teenager. Original builder should take a bow for carrying out the conversion successfully.
Rear side trim styling reminds me of a late '50's Pontiac-

eBay auction closed (Sold) for $12.5K.
It is a pretty nice example of someone thinking outside the box, and making it work. _________________ I have learned over the years.

And a bargain at that price when you consider the time spent to make it that nice! _________________ Our cars get old, we get old but driving an old VW never gets old! |

There is something similar running around here. Lettered as the ss minnow. Something about a 3 hour tour.

Now I have to ask, are these thing legit? I mean, are they real and are they more seaworthy than the barely seaworthy and extremely overvalued Amphibicars? I've never seen one of these animals.

They are not seaworthy, but would make a good anchor! |

I used to see that BoatWagen driving on Clearwater Beach by the Beloise Realty owner Sal. He used to have a Fiberglass buggy and a 65 bus. _________________ TP in the Pack (I am a cyclist)
