Hiya! I have a 1960 South African SO23 and the engine code is something I’ve never seen; it starts with SF. As you South African bus owners know the MCode reflects the country of delivery as SF. So, did South Africa have their own motors?

The engine number in my old South African Bay Window started SFCR:
SF = South Africa
C = Engine code (1600 single port, low compression)
R = Reconditioned

So they certainly had a plant that factory reconditioned engines. What's the full code on yours?
