Lowlight wiper motor

I have done a bit of a search trying to find an answer, but to no avail...
I have a 56 Ghia project and I have worked out that the wiper motor it came with is a later 58 version. I was hoping/wondering if anyone has managed to fit a later wiper assembly to an earlier LL, and how did you do it please? TIA

They are different motors with different linkages. It would be easier to find the correct 56-57 motor and put it in. You state your Ghia currently has a later motor installed? or did it come with a later motor in a box of parts? With some fabrication anything is possible, but going back to stock is always best in this situation.

Yes, the motor came in a box of parts, not fitted to the car. I see that Karmann changed them pretty quickly, so I would presume the earlier version isn't that great? Maybe someone might be open for a trade? I don't suppose you would have a photo of the body mounting plate in a 58> by any chance?
