So, here i am digging in to my first-ever transaxle rebuild adventure! Very Happy

Was going to do a whole build thread "Dummy Does Transaxle"
Make a whole first-timer's guide,
But got too carried away with the fun of ripping down a couple of old boxes..

Maybe I'll get going here on this soon.
Figured it would be useful for anyone doing this first-time like me,
because no assumptions would be made.

Really fun and easy to rip a box apart,
Until this.. Evil or Very Mad
Dumb tool i got that was supposed to take off this nut is too small.

Was hoping that this tool maybe works on later boxes or 091s or something..?
Wishful thinking?

Where to get a tool for these nuts?

Anybody know the rub on this?

I thought i had me the right tool...

Hahah Clatter are you a dirty boy? Twisted Evil

I'm a dirty boy. I had the same problem, and instead of figuring it out I just crappily made my own out of some steel I had around. Looking back I can't believe I did it. Click on the picture and zoom to see the description.

Haha.. Yeah, i have this faint smell of sulphur that won't go away. Confused

With my welding skills a home-made tool will certainly result in a loose flap of skin.. With blood oozing out from under and dripping on the ground..

There's just noplace to buy one?

And here i thought i had it nutted..
That tool really is some kind of cruel prank.

I'm just gonna hope those didn't exist when I disposed of several hours of my life welding blobs of metal on the inside of a fence post and then welding that into a piece of cold-rolled and chopping it back apart with an angle grinder and then welding more crap to it. Shocked

Killer find scotty, and great job Casting Timmy. Doin' us home trans builders a big favor. Casting Timmy believes in us.
