|

Hey all- This is my first time on this forum as most of my time is spent with older aircooled buses but I had a question that maybe one of you watercooled van guys could help me out with. I am sure there are million such questions so I appreciate any opinions. Anyways, I'm looking to buy a really straight '86 Vanagon from a fellow for a 1000 bucks. Runs good, drives, no rust, good paint, clean interior. Power steering is shot. Other than that it is sweet. Are there any 'trouble years' or anything like that? Is 86 a good year for vanagons? Is a thousand fair or can you find them pretty easy for that? It seemed like a good deal to me considering some of the junk I have seen for a $1000. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time, Leo _________________ El hombre viene por la frontera sin mas razon |

All are good in my humble opinion....but just make sure the heads arnt leaking anti freeze, they tend to get pricey.
Grand is a good price, you will enjoy how they handle, and run
power steering is easy to fix _________________ Retired attorney--Tort King.

Yup, a $1000 is very fair. Just make sure to check for leaky cylinder heads before purchase. |
