folks, can anyone point me to a source, or even just the ID (TE? AMP?), of the spring terminals found in the 14 pin dash cluster connector?
brickwerks apparently had them:
https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/electrical-terminal-t3-instrument-panel-electric-mirror-switch.html
But that VW part number only gives me a wire repair set - I want bare connectors.
Unless I need to buy them by the 100...
Thanks! |

Bumping this back to the top.
Also interested in locating these terminals. They also appear to be used in the brake indicator connector in the dash. _________________ 85 tintop. FAS 2.0 Gen V install in process....overthinking it as usual. |

It was some kind of the AMP twin leaf IIRC
You might find it in te.com if it is still made _________________ Zoltan

They can be cannibalized from the seat belt warning light. _________________ '90 Carat w/ '95 phase 1 EJ22 OBD2 conversion |

Yep, that's what I found on Mouser and Digi-Key as well. Just the 17mil size. In closer examination of the twin leaf connectors from AMP/TE, the ones used in our connector housings are slightly different in that there appears to be a supplemental support "spring" of sorts, making me think that there is a similar version out there.
And a thank you goes out to ZsZ for giving me a name to these types of terminals. Also "card edge connectors"
Bottom line though, I don't have time to research these at the moment more than the 3 hours I already have. My hope was the use a new connector so that I can duplex a wire set out of the seat belt/brake light on the dash to tap into circuit 15. I really, really would rather not splice or cut into the middle of the two wires between the ign. switch either.
Any other suggestions? _________________ 85 tintop. FAS 2.0 Gen V install in process....overthinking it as usual. |

Is it these pins? I’m currently building a harness for a vw 16v and these are the pins for the amp connectors…….
These are 13-17 gauge. I got them from digikey……and all my connectors
If it’s the ones I’ll dig up the part#
I got them two days ago…….they have 1000’s

Once I did find the right data sheet for the originals. I might have it somewhere on my old computer.
The Brickwerks one is for sure the same as the originals.
I assume with time the US vendors will also have some in stock _________________ Zoltan

This is the terminal…
It’s approximately an inch / 25mm from end to end. _________________ 85 tintop. FAS 2.0 Gen V install in process....overthinking it as usual. |
