I was told by a friend that this motor underwent changes and pointed out that the numbers had been ground out and new ones stamped. To the left of the H, there's what looks to be a recycle emblem. Also, the letters PO are stamped. Does anyone know what these mean?

Recycle stamp means it's been rebuilt. That's about all that we can tell from here. The P O stampings I'm not sure.

The P stamp at the parting line means the case has been planed and the bearing saddles rebored. Not sure what the O stamp means. Apparently the O stamp denotes oversize bearing bores.
