| I have a 1600 with dual 34 ict. I just adjusted the valves and the engine is running cherry. now all of a sudden, twice out of the ten times i have driven the car, about 5 seconds after shutoff (car is completly off) i hear a loud pop which sounds like backfire. any ideas. Ive called some local bug places and none of them have heard of this before. thanks. |

| sounds like the engine idle speed is high enough that raw fuel/air is entering the hot exhaust system and lighting up. Not really a backfire. Try reducing the idle speed to 700-800rpm, or lowest smooth idle. |
