After the axle boot removal, tap the clutch tube and bam.
Did not know they were so weak.

That front bulkhead looks like shit! Damn, is that bubblegum holding it onto the pan? Time for a new one! Be careful, the new units are THIN steel! Get a old one cut off a good pan. But even then, you will need a jig, or make a jig off of a good pan. Tricky stuff, but doable!
I like the large holes in the back to access the weld nuts!😜
At least the Bowden tube guide is easily replaced! _________________ Jimbo

Grind and drill small hole, than go bigger until…..Bam

Some people like to weld, but if that bolt snaps off crooked, welp, have fun. _________________ 1955 Beetle

If it shears off crooked, that when you weld a nut on there. Mainly because the heat imparted to the seized remnant loosens the grip of the rust. It almost always works great.
Sometimes I just start dropping little molten blobs of weld onto the top of a broken bolt, then grab onto the stack and turn!
Regardless. Very nice drilling! To leave only the threads. Just amazed! _________________ Jimbo

Nice job, zackly how I like to do 'em. Once you get through the center, the remaining shell of the rusted fastener just relaxes and an undersize tap just rolls it right out. You got that one centered dead-nuts. _________________ My name's Steve and it's pronounced "Bust 'em" (cuz people think I'm Tom) 😏 |
