Just picked up a november 1954 built oval. Here is the orig color in glovebox. The lighter version is with flash on camera. Is this nile beige? Just looks darker then what i see on line. Anyone have a picture of your oval in nile beige? Is it a more comon color? Also what interior color went with it?

it's tricky to judge with that green around it, perhaps try taking a photo using white paper to mask the green - have you checked out the paint/upholstery section of technical?
www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/paintcodestype1.php
which states:-
"The following colors began 4 August 1955, Chassis No. 1-929 746: Nile Beige, Jungle Green, Reed Green, Polar Silver"
here is the paint/upholstery catalogue for '52-'55
www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/lit/52_55_color_book.php
so could it be light beige L275? see pics here

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/gallery/pix/101841.jpg I think the bottom photo is closer to L-370 Nile Beige..I had a 52,000 mile original Nile Beige 55 3 fold sunroof car that I bought from the original owner..It had a partial re-spray on the front, but from the A pillars back, is was all original... I'll see if I can find a photo of it..

It pretty much has to be, or some close approximation of if the car is an 11/54. Look in the paint/upholstery in the tech section. You'll find the same car as posted in this thread. https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=504264&highlight=nile

If it is a nov 54 car, the color is light beige from factory.
Nile beige started 4.august 1955.
You have an early oval body with ribbed Doors?

Got my car from the original owner, 52,000 original miles with all the registrations, maintenance receipts, everything. She bought it from Dave Rasmussen VW in Burlingame, CA, on August 1st, 1955. Ribbed doors, non-batwing steering wheel, straight shifter, heater knob behind shifter, adjust e-brake from between the front torsion tubes...I know it's an oddball, but that is the way it came from the factory

I own a Light Beige oval and to me it looks like a good match with Light Beige though!

Here is my June of 1955 produced 1955 model year Deluxe Sunroof Beetle with it's original factory applied L370 Nile Beige paint... Photographed in sun. Hubcaps off as I had just re-installed all wheels after brake adjustments and wanted to test and re-test torque setting on my lug bolts after a few miles... I always torque upon wheel installations, then I stop to test each lug bolt torque about 1 1/2 miles away from home at the park or a favorite gas station, then do it all again one more time after completing my 20 mile test drive loop. Then I'm trustful and happy and I'll finally pop all hub caps back on!

There is some debate on what some of these beige colors are called, and I call mine L370 Nile Beige because the Volkswagen-issued production charts in the Aug of 1972 dealership parts book that I often use lists that L370 Nile Beige was available from March 1955 through March of 1956. It was the only beige color description listed in the manual for that one-year era. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter as long as you love and use and enjoy the old car.

Inside of a wheel well with original factory (but waxed) L370 paint, photographed in the shade of my garage... look close and you'll see that I'm waving at you.
