Yellow 356C Cabrio, TV show "Emergency!" season 4 episode 9 "Foreign Trade" (1974). Los Angeles County Fire Department Station 51 paramedic John Gage (Randolph Mantooth) realizes he wants to have a flashier car, so asks his colleague Roy DeSoto (Kevin Tighe) to trade his Land Rover for Roy's 356.

Sorry for the partial black screen borders- I neglected to stretch the lower section of the photos using Photoshop's image distort function to bring them out of the frame. That work is one of my regular enhancements when taking shots right off the TV with my digi camera.

2 356 speedsters and a 550 Spyder in a race at Southern California's Paramount Ranch track. It was located between Agoura Hills and Malibu in the Santa Monica Mountains. The track remnants still exist, and can be walked on the site of Paramount Ranch National Park.

1954 movie "Drive a Crooked Road" starring Mickey Rooney. The pre-A 356 Porsche Cabrio is driven into the "International Motors" dealer. IMDB lists the location as North Orange Drive and Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, California. The rectangular taillamps together with the split 2-piece windshield date the car as a '50 or '51, since the bent single-pane windshield started with the '52, and twin "beehive" taillamps with the '53.

More from the movie "Bullitt" (1968). Detective Frank Bullitt's girlfriend Cathy (Jacqueline Bissett) drives a 356C Cabrio, giving Bullitt rides for his work after he heavily damages his dark green Mustang Fastback at the end of the tremendous car chase with the black Dodge Charger. And when I was in elementary school (late 1960s) I had a pair of wraparound sunglasses like Lauren Bacall wears at the beginning of the movie. Would very much like to find another pair. Cool

Silver Porsche 356 Speedster from "Harper" (1966). Driven by main character Lew Harper (Paul Newman). IMCDB lists it as a '55. In the composite's upper shot he's driving the 356 to the Moon Fire Temple in Malibu, California. In the lower shot, he's accompanied by pretty Miranda Sampson (Pamela Tiffin).

From a YouTube video* of the 1956 Alpine Rallye (aka Rallye international des Alpes). The #332 Porsche Carrera Coupe was entered by the American (!) team of Chuck Rickert and Dave Kriplen. The first shot is at the summit of the incredible Stelvio Pass in Italy (aka Stilfser Joch in German).

Red 356 Coupe in right background, movie "What's up, Doc?" (1972). Actor Sorrell Booke is driving the early 1950's Cadillac at the start of the great car chase segment filmed in San Francisco, California. Mr. Booke is well known as character Boss Hogg in the early 1980's TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard".

Blue-silver 356 Coupe in background, TV show "Police Story" season 3 (1975). Is the taillight the rectangular shape from the early 50's, before the quad "beehives" were started?

Turquoise 356A Coupe driven by Richard Hammond, documentary "Richard Hammond's Big! Austria's Mega Dam" season 1 episode 3, 2020. This is the Koelnbrein Dam, located in the Malta valley (Maltatal) northwest of the village of Gmuend. Yes, that Gmuend, where the first ca. 50 356 were built in the late 1940's. I've seen new Porsches with a similar "S-GO" license plate in recent press photos, so this one might be a factory museum/heritage car with the "H" (historic) registration.

All screen shots are from the 1958 Coupe des Alpes (aka Alpine Rally). The Speedster Carrera (!) was driven by the French team Storez & Chavy which unfortunately did not finish. The 1958 route went from Marseilles France on the Mediterranean eastward to Brescia Italy, back into France via Megeve, then Gap, and ended in Marseilles. ~ 2400 miles in 72 hours with only 3 breaks!
