Took hubcap off drivers side front wheel and saw the bearing cap with the speedo hole in it.
Protruding from it was the end of the speedo cable. But, there did not seem to be anything holding the cable from coming out further into the cap or pulling back behind the disk brakes. Is there supposed to be some type of clamp to hold the speedo cable in the correct position? If so, where do I find this clamp and what is it called?

Just a C-clip over the end of the cable, the slot right at the "square" at the end. |

The cable tends to stay in place without the C-clip. But, I would get one on there for good measure. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

Over the years I remember seeing one with a cotter pin through end to keep cable in cap... _________________ “Fear The Government That Wants To Take Your Guns"

On my buggy I had an issue with the sheath or the outside pulling out of the spindle so i drilled and tapped a little set screw to hold it snug worked great |

Probably could have gotten one at local hardware store for 39¢... _________________ “Fear The Government That Wants To Take Your Guns"

Well, I had to order the rest of the front end parts I needed anyway, so I just added a couple of those in.
By the end of next week, I'll have completely replaced every part in the front end from side to side!
That should last a long, long time! _________________ 1966 Manx clone (possibly a Joe Poty Enterprises) named SANDY. '70 to '73 1300 cc w/1600 DP heads, twin carbs and headers |
