I need to replace my front sway bar bushings on my 74 Super (#21 in the diagram) The one on the passenger side especially. It has shriveled up and isn't doing much. I have the new ones and want to tackle this job before summer gets here.
1. Do I need to jack the front of the car up for this.
2. What torque should I use when putting the bolts back on?
3. If these bolts should break, what size are replacements
4. Should I have put this in the "stupid question thread"
5. Any other information I should know before I start this probably very
simple job and soaking the bolts in PB Blaster.

What Cusser said. Very easy job. The swaybar on a Super is a critical part of the geometry of the front suspension, thus the suspension must be unloaded before working on the bushings. That said, those bushings are the single easiest parts to replace on the entire front suspension. Though I'm sure there is correct torque for those bolts and I highly recommend looking up the torque value, I've never actually applied my torque wrench to those bolts when reinstalling them.
