Hey everyone!
I need help troubleshooting some glass scratch issues with my 1995 VW Kombi driver's side window. It looks like something inside the door (raling) has been scratching the window (bus came that way when I bought it).
Listed below are some photos showing what I'm talking about.
My questions are the following:
1). Can this glass window be buffed out, treated somehow, or does it need to be entirely replaced?
2.) Before I go digging inside the door itself, does anyone have any ideas of what's could be scratching it and maybe point me in the right direction for repair?
Thanks so much for the help!

Wow that's some scratching.
The short answer is that you have to remove the door trim to be sure what's happening but clearly there is some misalignment in there.
Light scratches can be removed by "sanding" with Cerium Oxide but I fear that those scratches are far too deep so replacement would be my suggestion.
In any case it's not much point doing anything until you find out the reason for the mechanism fouling. _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery

Thanks Viiking for the feedback. That's what I was thinking too.
Know of any good places to find windows/glass?
Thanks |
