Wow! 200 beetles and buses disabled from the fleet?
Either some really bad drivers, or they had a sh*tload of vehicles.

most likely a mixture of exuberant driving, poor road surfaces (especially wet cobbles), a lack of lighting and in the early post war cars sub-standard parts.

Is that an armed forces bus, or a police bus?

That bus rocks !
Standard sunroof, single color paint, dual mirrors, Behr, fog lights, radio, roof rack, rear luggage compartment, taxi/ambulance cab glass divider option...totally pimped out ! Shocked

Yes. descending driver mirror arm, no rear bumper, late pivot quarter lights…could probably narrow the build date to a few months. Roller blinds on the cargo door windows too.

Www.Barndoor.dk states:
Feb 52 Rear compartment ended
Dec 52 Piano hinge quarter lights and ascending mirror arm ended
Dec 53 Standards got a rear bumper
Question
A 53 with optional rear compartment?

I’ve assumed it’s a branch of the police…so it makes the cut! 🙂
Guessing it’s black.

Maybe Dark Green like the first Bus in this thread?

I've seen other Police Buses in dark green.
