I just installed a 1600 sp with a Alternator in my 1960 panels (it’s a 59 build so runs 59 wiring fuse box etc) now here’s the problem…
The gen light doesn’t light up so I checked to see if there’s actually power at the green wire on top of the alternator with the key on …no go then checked the bulb its fine do I need to add something into the circuit to run the alternator????
I had no issues when I had the 36hp stock set up.

ok, you are altogether removing your existing regulator

take the blue wire off terminal 61 and splice it with the green or whatever color that's coming from D+ on your alternator. If your regulator is right there, no need to splice just move the blue to the D+ that diagram is more for a bug with the regulator under the seat?

For the big battery B+ wire from the alternator take it off the regulator D+
Also take off the big B+ wire that goes to B+ on the regulator. Splice those two together

you should have nothing remaining connected to the regulator, light should come on with the key and drive away happy charging

Let me know if you still need help!
