Hi Guys, If any of you are restoring floorpans and seat rails, You might find the cross brace section between the rails hard to come by?

I've made up a drawing for a 1966 Ghia which I printed onto paper and used as a template to make my own cross member.
(The only difficulty the home user might have is accessing a press to make the 4 main creases?)
I've included the files in this post that anybody can download and use them.
It should be a perfect match for your old one and I've even got the fold ups on the ends for spot welding.

These photo's show how I made mine, sorry I don't have a decent end shot showing the rails in place, but you'll get the idea

Cheers
RT

Brilliant Russell, thanks very much.

I've added this to the "How To" Stickies in the "Seats" section. Smile

Nicely done! Keep in mind there were two different widths of seat rail. I forget the year change offhand (68 maybe? ). It would be good to include both measurements.

Another forum member VWLIFER64 was making these a few years back. Not sure if he still is.

Ah, I was not aware of different widths. Mine was based on a 1966 model

I made a similar drawing based on my 1970 Ghia. I will dig it up and add it to this thread when get a few spare moments.
