installed redline weber 34 ict dual. jets are stock..but the engine is running terrible;..it is a new 1776 with a bosch German 009 dissy. I need to do something...the idle screw is way over 21/2 turns..timing is set at 30* btdc at 3000 rpms..valve adjustment is good.. I need some suggesting on jetting.... I am sure there are others that have experienced the same issue...what did you do...Thanks...

This got me in the ballpark, the rest was tuning with a wideband.

Read the article from Wayoutwesty.com, make sure you have a balancing tube 1/2 inch diameter hard hone, don’t use a soft one. Make sure your float levels are good and you have the right fuel psi, 2.1-2.5psi. Wayoutwesty has the right formula on jetting. If you’re using the stock jets that Redline came with you will need to change them. Also make sure you are using F6 emulsion tubes. Time the engine to 10* at idle and 30* at 3000rpm. I have a 1776 also and it runs great and pulls through any speeds. Best of luck to you

As I mentioned in that otrher thread. When using these carbs, a 009 type dizzy and a regular coil, 30 degree advance is not enough. Most need 32. some even more to do a proper burn.

Alstrup...thank you for your comments. this is a brand new motor. when i installed the set of carbs for the first time the bug started but ran a little rough.i wish i would have left it alone and have taken baby steps.instead i took the approach to reset both set screws...i have been struggling ever since.

1776 stock motor
009 bosch german dizzy with electronic ignition
stock fuel pump set a 1.5 psi. but will need to check again once i get it running.
flamethrower coil

i have not pulled the carbs yet..so i am not sure what jets are residing within..i am willing to change over the jets. Thats the other problem. who sells them at the each level..trying to buy these 160 mains, 180 airs, 55 idles, f6 emulsions, 150 float jets*. thanks Matt
