Depends, on the type of driving you do and the model of plugs.

Owners manual says to change them every 12,000 miles.

Back in the unleaded gasoline days, I installed new spark plugs every 6000 miles, they'd get a lot of residue on them. Nowadays, with unleaded gasoline, can go significantly longer.
