OK I am frustrated and stupid. I can't figure out how to disconnect the plastic shielded spade connectors in my 1971 SB.

I am re-doing my harness and need to make a few changes, but I need to disconnect these spade terminal. HOW DO I DO IT???
Is there a special tool? I tried just pulling and THAT didn't seem to work....

Are you sure they are the twin end spade? VW used a single spade end with clip in male terminal, the fixed in does not pull out easily until little retainer is pushed back into terminal.

Use this type of tool. The flat thick one works well, about 1/8 inch wide. push it in centered on the bottom side, barrel is not crimped on this side, then push the terminal in, and then back out. Should slide out if you got it!

The red one has it on it.

The tab you are trying to flatten is like these ones, but on the flat terminal.

I’ve used a tiny jeweller’s screwdriver (the ones you use to tighten the tiny screw on sunglasses) to push that tab if you don’t have the correct tool in a pinch.
