Oval August 1953 L35 Metalic Blue. Out of the woods in a very bad state, I'm going to try to save her 😅🤞

WOW! That looks like a lot of fun! Rag top for sure!
I love the 53 heater outlets.
Let’s see what takes place! _________________ Jimbo

Judging by his previous builds, miraculous things will occur!

Hello,
I'm posting the exit of the two ladybugs from the woods. The 1955 L313 Reed green (the blue one on the video) will not be saved. It will allow me to redo the 1953 oval (L35 metallic blue all rusty) but also my convertible which has become oval

No ribbed doors and later door strikers. Looks like a '56. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

That is when they switch from “Calendar Year” to “Model Year”. So, Calendar Year means the model year changes at the start of the new year, on January 1st. So, the 1954 Bugs went from Jan 1 to Dec 31. The 1955 year started in Jan 55 and ended in July 55. Only 7 months.
“Model Year” is a full year model which starts and ends in August. Make sense? So in 56, the model year started in early August and ended in early July, giving the factory a few weeks to set up the changes to the new car for the upcoming year. Hope that helps. _________________ Jimbo
