Back around 2013-ish I traveled from Houston, Tx to Brenham, Tx to service their lift trucks & chargers as a Motive Power Technician many times. FDA regs require electric equipment in the food or food related industries. Think :
Blue Bell Ice Cream ... yum !
Was saddened by the plant problems with listeria (I think) outbreak/recall. I consume enuff dairy products to clog an elephant.
It's the only brand I buy - still tastes rich & creamy.
Also like their slogan :
"We eat all we can & sell the rest".
lol
Culver's shakes don't separate with a froth on top if left to sit. They will also accommodate my request for
"Death by chocolate".
Sad we have to pick and choose ... stay safe

People love Blue Bell vanilla ice cream.

What is it with ice cream? Have tried ice cream lately? What is going on at that ice cream factory? Just channeling my inner Jerry Seinfeld. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

I have become a fan of "Dole Soft Serve".
I'm sure it is garbage. But at least I can see, from my bathroom window, the factory where it is made.

You are correct! They are called Box Alders or the local common name is Manitoba Maples. They are not Sugar Maples (which cannot survive in our harsh climate, too wimpy! ) but they are of the same family. The syrup is also a bit different in flavor but still very palatable. You can also make syrup from Birch trees, Sugar Maples do not hold an exclusive paten on sugar production, they are just the most common tree used. _________________ We had the stone age, the bronze age, the industrial age and now we are in the age of mass deception and mind control for corporate profit. yepper , box elders , weeds that grow along the river banks here, (northern vt).
I've even seen some idiots tapping oak trees.
AFAIK. black birch is tapped at the roots to make birch beer. _________________ "Albatross"! |

Pepsi has been making an ALL SUGAR no corn syrup cola soft drink for about 3 years now. It is not a special edition, although you do have to ask your store to get it . Coke on the other hand is a SPECIAL only reserved for that special Jewish holiday. If you can stand tasting like its 1950s again, try Pepsi. Its in an all blue can in the 7 or 12 oz. size. The 12oz. is usually cheaper.....go figure! I used to drink Coke, but now I can get Natural All Sugar Pepsi.
Oh, Bryers has sucked with their Ice Cream for about the last 5 years. Remember when they used to put a green dye in their mint chocolate chip. It was at the same time they removed the dye and everything else that made it good. Now it is worse than white water with a little chocolate thrown in. |

Mexican coke isn’t made with real sugar unfortunately. Even if it says it’s cane sugar. It’s all marketing. I’m guessing that if someone checked the “special” pepsi it would be the same…

No. it also tastes different. The "SPECIAL " Pepsi has sugar in it and it isnt just marketing. Wouldnt it be a bad ass thing to market Pepsi with corn syrup as real sugar. I have to disagree here.....they advertise REAL SUGAR AND it tastes better than corn syrup editions. OK next thing you know the yellow cap for hanakkuh (sp) is a joke. Really, Mexican VS American , dont think it would ever work out. |

Kinda looks like our Tillamook vanilla ice cream is keeping it relatively real -

Yes, Mexican Coke!
I used to drink Coke when I'd stop at the gas station and get a bottle form the machine. I liked it!
Then years later when I'd have a Coke it just tasted bad. I wasn't aware of the change from cane sugar to corn syrup. Then I had a "bottle Coke" in Mexico and was "Wow, THIS is what I remember!" and it was great!
Local Costco sells them in cases of 24. And the good Mexican restaurants have them on hand. |
These are great! Coke has always been a treat for me at times, I'd rather have one than an adult beverage most times. I kinda gave up on it because of the corn syrup, but once these were available I buy them once in a while. Remember.. too much soda will kill you |

I just read the back of the can yesterday. Of pineapple juice with pulp. Serving size is one cup and the can was huge, like a 40. Totally something you would buy in the summer and kill it in an hour or so. 96% of your daily allowance of sugar in that can. yep, you have to watch the portion/serving sizes. most people eat 2 or 3 times the advised amount of breakfast cereal at a go. _________________ "we're here on Earth to fart around" kurt vonnegut

Bogus.
He bases it on a study that showed "Mexican Coke" (as sold in Mexico) uses HFCS, not cane sugar. I have no reason to doubt that study.
But the "Mexican Coke" sold in the USA is not the same, even according to this guy. Coke claims the imported "Mexican Coke" still uses cane sugar.
But he PERSONALLY doubts it.
His doubt is not proof, or even evidence. It's skepticism without fact. Phony controversy to make a buck on the interwebs. (Don't we get enough of this shit already?)
My own taste buds confirm the "Mexican Coke" sold through Costco in California is in fact cane sugar based, not HFCS. The difference is startling.
And it was a double-blind test! When I first tasted it a few years ago, it was served in a glass by friends who didn't know it was "Mexican." They just thought the bottles were cool so they bought it without looking at the label. When I first sipped it, I asked what it was, since it tasted so different than any soda I had drank for many years. When they said "Coke," I replied, "No way, this is really different" so they showed me the bottle. We were both surprised to see the Coke label showing cane sugar, not HFCS. |
