Umpqua as well. My Kryptonite is Umpqua Mudslide ice cream once in awhile. It really ought to come with a complimentary insulin shot, but NO HFCS and real ice cream.

No Umpqua over here....but I did have some Ice Cream in Ashland, Oregon last summer, so maybe I've had Umpqua?
We do, however, have Tillymonk here----but who knows who actually makes it.

I would say that's right about the wine. Chateau St. Michelle and a few others have been spanking it for a while. Their Indian Wells reds have been great for a while!

From industrial chemist:
As to the sucrose v. HFCS in Coca-Cola (which I don't drink): It is well-established that sucrose in carbonated beverages hydrolyzes to glucose and fructose due to the low pH of the product. With sucrose, the reaction is called inversion.

So if sucrose is actually added to Coca-Cola, subsequent analysis will not show intact sucrose.

I had two kidney stones in the 1970s, one in 2015, and one summer 2023; in 2015 a doctor didn't agree that I had a stone even though I knew exactly what it was, and it passed a week later. In 2023, I didn't bother with a doctor, the stone passed 10 days later. So I gave up drinking one big glass of iced tea each afternoon.

However, I started drinking Minute Maid lemonade instead, and that had way more calories, so I quit that too. Now I'm on water and some Kiltlifter or Drive-Thru Red Ale from Trader Joe's....

I’ve sold the Cuisinart ice cream maker ICE-21P1 well over 20 years. I’ve sold many types of ice cream makers over the years. I’ve owned a Cuisinart for 18 years and use it often. Using it today for a dinner party at my house. I’ve made ice cream and all forms ice cream desserts. Gelato, Custard Cream, sorbet, and etc. I was in a very nice restaurant in town. Looking into the kitchen I could see two of these machines. They are not commercial grade but they worked just fine for them.

It’s $50 at Walmarts website. Usually retail is $70. I also have an extra mixing bowl.

You need to freeze the bowl with the magic liquid overnight. The liquid is in between the walls of the bowl. I keep one in a freezer ready to go. The beauty of this machine. Pour in the ingredients and it’s done in 20 minutes. Stiffer ice cream. Set it in the freezer for an hour or more. You can also add fruit and other crap in it as it churns.

This is one experience I had over the summer buying a container if ice cream (unfortunately, I cannot remember the exact brand.) It was labeled as "ice cream" and not a "frozen dairy desert." Behind my shop space is a hillside covered in blackberries which arrive with a vengeance in mid-July. On the way home bought the ice cream and was unexpectedly delayed by a traffic accident. When finally getting it in the freezer, the sides of the container were a bit squishy/flexible.

Later in the evening removed the ice cream and the sides had firmed up. Opening up the top for the first time, a bit puzzled to find the volume inside was about 80% of what is normally packed into a container. Figured this shrinkage was due to the whipped air integrated into the processing of the product.
