I saw the posts about the axle mounted fuel filter bracket, the post was a couple of years old, is it still availabe from the supplier?

Never on the axle.

But maybe you meant those that mount to a tranny side cover?:

I was just looking at that ad. It doesn't say -- which filter does it fit? (brand/part#/size, etc)

I'd go for a metal filter, and write the date on it when you install. Not sure which brackets fit which filters.
