Aww. Internet forums are such good practice for fine tuning my Snappy Comeback Generator. It was stunted and poorly formed in high school when I needed it most. A few squirts of oral steroids, I'm good to go.

"Bring money and go back home!"
Except...
A lifetime of livin' on a budget has taught me to party like a rock star for pennies. "Champagne taste on a beer budget?!" BS! If you have "champagne taste" drink champagne!
Girlfriend had a tough day with her mother. He mother is suffering onset of dementia which manifests itself as a big shot of paranoia. The lady is so negative she can bend butter knives by telekinesis. Girlfriend diligently sorts mom's pills into a pill organizer and then her mother hides them. She's got a problem and she's off her meds.
But...
I grilled a leftover two pound ribeye that was supposed to be Christmas dinner. I saw the same cut for $16.99 a pound over at Market Basket. We paid $5.99 a pound and we're using the bone for soup stock.
I figure that was a $50.00 steak by the time I got done with it.
So..
R.I.P. cow. Couldn't tell you where that cow came from but it sure was good.

Saturday's Party Like a Rock Star Tour will start at Al's Seafood a stone's throw from New Hampshire's rocky coast. We have a couple stops up Route 1. First stop will be a gas station / liquor store in Kittery that stocks Back River gin. Folklore has it they make the stuff in a barn in Union, Maine. Whatever. It's simply the finest gin on earth. One adult beverage made from that stuff, Girlfriend can ignore the fact that her mother is losing her marbles.
If Girlfriend is good I'm good.
We'll probably stop at Pigs Fly almost within sight of the liquor store. You can live on Pigs Fly bread.

Poutine.
Moral of the story is if it's warm and there's food most critters take that as a sign it's time to reproduce.

If you can't get them you need to roll your own. I hear low temperature grilling on a bed of diced onions is the secret.
Girlfriend makes perfect bagels. I ate the last one this morning. She got in this evening with a bag of high end bagels. It's a hardship. We'll have to eat bagels when the steak is gone.

Frozen White Castles have improved since their conception. I get them occasionally.
Probably the only place in MD that sells pork roll sandwiches is right across the street from my business. I had on yesterday. Its over $9 for a PR, egg and cheese! The price keeps me from eating it everyday. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3 narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

Can't help you with the donuts but...
Pekarski's Sausage
293 CONWAY RD.
SOUTH DEERFIELD, MA 01373
(413) 665-4537
Kielbasa.
"219 Conway Road" actually means Massachusetts Route 116 west off of I-91. If you don't travel up I-91 you're on the wrong side of the state. Don't go east on 116. Mass 116 east goes towards Mount Holyoke College and Amherst.
North Country Smokehouse
https://ncsmokehouse.com/
Kielbasa, bacon and diverse sausages.
They're in the industrial park in Claremont, NH a short way off I-91 exit 8. While a pilgrimage to The Mother Ship is worthwhile, it's easier to get your North Country at any Hannaford's.
Their applewood smoked bacon is simply The Best.
Rolf's Pork Store
Albany, NY
https://www.rolfsporkstore.com/
Kielbasa, bacon and diverse sausages.
Rolf's is in a kinda funky neighborhood in Albany. Like funky neighborhoods go they're only a few blocks from hip up and coming neighborhoods. That's the hassle with bricks and mortar, you are where you are.
They tell me the original smokehouse dates back to the Civil War. It's been Rolf's for the last 50 years. Rolf is a classic German wurstmeister. Get your brats, your knockwurst, your 'basi and your landjaegers at Rolf's.
Rolf makes "The Lost Landjaegers of My Youth". They are exactly and precisely the sausages from my lunchbox when I was a kid.
Bet you're jealous.
Rolf's is worth the trip if you're on the wrong end of the 802. It's a long way from the NEK but...
You pretty much have to go there to get anywhere else.
There is so much food in and around Albany you can't possibly eat it all.
Honorable mention:
Bavaria Sausage
https://www.bavariasausage.com/
Pigs go in. Sausages come out. This goes on all day every day and maybe all night as well.
Judy's landjaegers are a little spicier and a little snappier than entirely traditional versions.
Judy will happily mail you sausages making any location a sausage fest.
If you buy your landjaegers at any of S. Clyde Weaver's Pennsylvania delis you're buying Judy's sausages.

Since food is in play, I'll go with Leonard's Bakery on Kapahulu Ave. in Honolulu. Get there when they first open and score some malasadas fresh out of the fryer. At least you'll die with a big smile on your face. |
