|
|
I have always set up my camper and van to be off grid and independent of any connection needs. I do have both wired for outside connection to 110v/15A female receptacle on exteriors.
My question is: what do I need to able to connect at all commercial RV sites? If my thinking or assumptions are correct, simply getting two 30 amp female to 15 amp male adapters would suffice. I see them available under$9. I'm just looking to run a regular outdoor extension cord to source power to inside for fan, microwave, light or whatever.
All campsites have 30A plugs right? No needs for 50A here. Yeah, just new to this modern technology _________________ "A life of peace and happiness depends on your own gratefulness" |

Make that a 30 A male to 15 A female adapter instead. _________________ "A life of peace and happiness depends on your own gratefulness" |

That's what I've used.
Or some have the grounded 3-prong 15/20 amp as well.
Never used the 50A but they are there at some sites for huge RVs. |

A quick search found this: https://www.rvezy.com/blog/rv-hookups
Most have a 30A female outlet, some might have a bonus 50A too, you'll need an adaptor to get it down to the 15A blade configuration. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Don’t cheap out on these , as in buying from the jungle. Get a good marine grade one from one of the reputable houses like m

Thanks all,for confirming. Just needing to jump from1 plug size to a smaller, no electronics/fuses/switches involved in it, why not just get plastic el cheapo unit? It's not a "homemade double male- ended suicide coupler"! Plenty available $9-$20 variety, some with surge breaker included.
When I first bought my 1958 camper ,it had a "DMESC" included. Just lay that extension cord on the ground and wait for fun. _________________ "A life of peace and happiness depends on your own gratefulness" |
