|
|
I will soon apply a complete epoxy sprayout on a fully bare metal 70 Ghia Vert mounted on a rotisserie.
I am particularly interested in tips and strategies on how to paint/approach the following:
- Under rear seat area (y-pipe pocket under rear seat sides)
- Behind and around convertible bracing and luggage tray
- Inner nose
- Engine compartment wheel well drop-downs.
- Front wheel well blind areas (behind fresh air vent duct, gas lid pocket, Etc.)
- Behind dash and dash "Side pockets"
I am not beyond using a brush or brush-like substance, and I have a mini detail spray gun as well as a full-size LVLP gun.
What I am working with
Cheers,

Where have you been, my friend? I missed you.
To the business at hand: If I had the opportunity to go back to the stage where you are now, I would insist that the painter guy find a way to paint the INSIDES of the rockers and the air ducts. And seal their seams and floors with a suitable product. I used Würth cavity wax/oil (after the event).
Rust just loves to grow where you can't see or clean.
All the best with your painting project. I'll follow your progress.

Thanks for the welcome Chris.
The painter "Gal" (SWMBO) will do most of the painting with gun and brush because I can't see well enough not to mess it up. As for the areas you mentioned, I have a cavity wax gun and wand that will be used for all the hard to reach areas as well as the inside of the rockers and fresh air ducts up front. I will likely use MasterSeries since it applies well over tight rust. Once done, I will inspect with my bore scope and flood the seams if they need extra love.
