|
|
I'm finishing an old tech, tube frame VW buggy that I actually had started building almost 20 years ago. Long story. Anyway, now I'm going to put this nostalgia rail together.
2165 VW, bus trans, 10% highway, 90% off road.
I'm looking for some reasonably priced 31x10.50r15 tires. (Already have 15" x 10" rims.)
I want something with well rounded corners on the tread, and with a little tread up the sidewalls. Not real aggressive tread like Swampers nor full on mud tires.
Cheap!
Suggestions?

Thanks for the reply!
Yeah, I was wondering if my "round" spec would be clear...
Ok, it's how the tread blends into the sidewall. Most offroad tires, and particularly mud/snow tires are very squared off. What I want is a rounded tire.
I had difficulty even finding a pic for illustration. This pic is a good example of the profile shape I want, but the tread isn't right. I would like a tire with this shape, but with a normal offroad tread that would be rock resistant, and in the 30×10.50x15 (approximate) size.
Looking so far, can't find anything...

Thanks!
But those are still kind of square, and very expensive.
I found this, but it's still not quite what I want. Also, I'm thinking I want a 9.50 tire rather than 10.50...
