being new to motor work on these engines, Im having trouble finding the right size bearing set. The cases I have are line bored .60 over, the crank journals are std and the thrust bearing is std.
Any ideas?

You can also look for bearings with 60 linebore, standard crank with oversize thrust, and then trim the bearing to fit your standard thrust case

Looks like the closest you are going to get is a 111 198 491 60.

It is .060 case, STD crank, and +2 thrust. It is VERY odd that a case would need to be line bored that far without ever needing to be thrust cut, unless it had a stuck bearing or something in a previous life.

Just order a set of those bearings, and have the thrust surface widened in the lathe to match you case. Since you have to machine a bearing anyways, you might as well have a skim cut on the case thrust done because it most likely needs it.

https://www.mamotorworks.com/vw/product/vw-main-be...0cc-316003

Select T166 which is .060 crank / std rod / 2nd cut thrust and you can easily have a machine shop cut the thrust bearing to fit the case.

Or buy from a Samba member
