Hey all. I got an aftermarket stereo with a large screen that tilts.
Works great except the dash gets in the way to rotate screen to the optimal angle.
Looking to get something that can extend it out a little bit.
Something universal along these lines:

Any ideas out there. My googling has come up short. _________________ SnoWesty: Triple Knob Syncro | Boxeer 2.0 TDi | Fox adjustable shocks | BMS Control Arms |

The one that comes to mind is the Chevy s10 mounting kit. 1990s something. I have a tilt pioneer and I adjusted the screen to fit. I think -1 was the max.
Good luck _________________ 87 gl powerd buy 2.5subaru

There are some ready made ones you might fing by searching "1din spacer"
Or you can 3D print a custom one. I saw models to download on thingiverse _________________ Zoltan

Looks like another victim has been drawn into the black hole of fitting a double-DIN entertainment system into a Vanagon… _________________ “Most everyone’s mad here. You may have noticed I am not quite all there myself.” — Cheshire Cat, Adventures of Alice in Wonderland

if you have a table saw, l'd have thought you could make something up with plywood. _________________ markswagen {mobile mechanic} san diego area all early VW's cared for.

You’ll find some other suggestions in this thread.

Be aware that with any larger screen that clears the dash you may have some interference with the shifter. I needed to add a shifter extension to resolve that issue. _________________ White 89 Westy with 2004 Subaru EJ25 and Subarugears 5MT - Betty |

I really thought you were going to suggest cutting the dash.
A jig saw would be better for cutting out that bump though. _________________ '87 Syncro Ferric Oxyhydroxide Superleggera Edition

It's a single din set up. It's just the angle of the screen would be better if it was a little offset from being fully flush with the slot the stereo goes into.
The way the dash has that lip just above the stereo slot means that the screen doesn't tilt to an optimal angle. So it's not a double to single din issue....it's just having an extender that allows it to sit a bit further out....
I'm thinking to design and get it printed with a 3D printer is my best option. _________________ SnoWesty: Triple Knob Syncro | Boxeer 2.0 TDi | Fox adjustable shocks | BMS Control Arms |

Thanks!!
The screen can slide up the way - so it avoids the shifter. I just didn't think about the lip of the dash when I made the purchase. _________________ SnoWesty: Triple Knob Syncro | Boxeer 2.0 TDi | Fox adjustable shocks | BMS Control Arms |

I got sucked in too, cant even begin to add up the time and money when I did mine. Now my unit is ancient and I want to make a whole new set up. Theres also a SC AC unit behind there. Worst part is I hate the end result but I just had to stop.
