So my clutch was slightly sipping mostly in 3rd and 4th gears at higher rpms. I tore the engine out (first time for me) and there was a little wetness on inside of the clutch so that explains my slippage. I've heard mixed thoughts on what to replace. Originally I was planning on doing a complete clutch kit but after talking to some old school mechanics I'm leaning towards possibly not doing all new parts. I was told if I had no other issues like chattering clutch then most likely my fly wheel and pressure plate would be fine to reuse. Fly wheel looks pretty good and pressure plate looks pretty good. No hot spots. Was going to clean them up and put a new sprung clutch in. It's not a money issue but more of a new parts and quality issue in my head. As I said my clutch was fine besides the slight slipping so as long as I get that fixed I was fine with how my clutch felt etc. I was told if I reuse my pressure plate I might want to grease the pivot points inside of it. Anyone have any thoughts on that? What type of grease? Some sort of spray grease or just leave it alone and not cause problems with grease getting flung around onto new clutch?
I'll be changing throwout bearing, transmission seal, oil cooler seals, rear main seal as well.
But again just wanna make sure I'm not being completely stupid by not putting a new fly wheel and pressure plate too.

You pulled the engine for this... don't skip... go all new... resurface your flywheal too... That's what I would do...

How are you determining that the clutch is slipping? In general a clutch will not slip until the arms of a diaphragm start to touch the shell of the clutch cover.

Pictures of the various parts of your clutch would help.

I determined the clutch was slipping by having the clutch slip. Laughing

Have you replaced it yet?
Curious if there was visible damage.
Pics would be good.

Yes I did replace. The old clutch was slightly oily on the flywheel side and I assume that's what was causing the slip. Ended up replacing flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. Definitely no slipping now!

Hope you replaced the flywheel seal while you were at it.
