I'm just about done with my front under-windshield rust repair.

So that means it's almost time for me to start putting things back together.

When it comes time to reassemble, is it easier to put the top of the dash back on first BEFORE putting the windshield in?

Or is it easier to put the windshield in first without the top of the dash, and then stuff the top of the dash back in after the windshield is in?

When I took everything apart I took the windshield out first but I was just cutting the seal out so far easier than pulling rope out.

I assume either order would work, but what's easiest?

I'd do the dash first.

+1 for dash first. There's nothing better than using a nice long screwdriver to set those forward screws through the windshield frame without having to work around the glass.

Same vote as others. Dash and everything on it first

If you are painting the top metal dash part, use semigloss or (better) flat black paint, not glossy and especially not white (!). Your eyes will thank you.
