In that thread 10 years ago I said:
"Type II units work much better. Just whack 'em out of the front of an old bus and rotate them 90 degrees. Plenty of extra sheet metal to cut "darts" in so you can bend back and blend into the Ghia fender. And, yes--------I've done it."

I like the way the slanted lights look on a Ghia. The only part of the conversion that puts me off is how the front end looks like a ham cut on the bias when viewed from the side. Reshaping the lower portion of the wing to continue the slant and transition into a more vertical descent would provide the finishing touch.
This is not meant to be a knock on your choice, but rather an option to get the best out of your project.
